MY STORY
How I worked didn't match who I was.
I was working for one of the world's top 10 brands, sitting at my desk at home looking at an upside-down map of the world. Which was ironic, because I wanted to turn my world around.
Inside there was friction; outside, frustration. No heartfelt joy. A yo-yo attitude, brake and accelerator at the same time. And a voice that kept saying: you can do better.
About 18 months into the role, with little fulfilment or success, I decided I was going to change things. Somehow I found a way that, in hindsight, helped me integrate the things I love doing into my role.
In 16 weeks: 137 new outlets of business from one of the world's top three paint and coatings companies.
The only problem was, I couldn't isolate how I'd done it.
Two unfulfilling jobs later, the old pattern was back.
Then one cold winter Friday night, while my friends went out socialising, I attended an event. That night became the breakthrough I never knew was coming.
I pulled together everything I'd learned and created what is now known as the Emotional Evaluator.
The moment I finished it, I said to myself, "This is worth a million pounds."
I was wrong.
The one-to-one and team sessions I've led with it have since been traced back to helping generate hundreds of millions.
Did it work? It worked.
I tested it in my home town. Representatives from Coca-Cola, Kraft Foods, a Premier League-winning football team, local consultants and business owners all flocked to Astley Bank.
